Terms of Service

Security1000 is a product of Forage Data LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Forage Data," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Security1000 website, rankings, data exports, and related content (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Acceptance

By accessing, browsing, or purchasing any part of the Service, you confirm that you've read these Terms and agree to be bound by them. If you're using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity, and "you" refers to both you individually and the entity. These Terms form a binding contract between you and Forage Data even though they're electronic and not physically signed.

2. What the Service Is

Security1000 publishes a ranking of the fastest-growing cybersecurity companies in the world, along with analytics, profiles, and a downloadable dataset. The rankings are computed from public signals: headcount growth, funding, hiring pace, search interest, and news mentions. The methodology is described on the About page.

We may change, add, or remove features at any time, and we may adjust the ranking methodology as the data improves. The specific companies, scores, and ordering shown on the site are a snapshot — they move.

3. Purchases

3.1 Payment

Dataset downloads are sold at the price shown on the Download page. Payments are processed by Stripe; we don't see or store your card number. You're responsible for any taxes that apply in your jurisdiction.

3.2 Delivery

After payment, we generate a time-limited signed URL for the dataset. The link expires after a short window shown on the download page. If yours expires before the download completes, contact us and we'll issue a new one.

3.3 Refunds

The dataset is delivered immediately and is digital, so all sales are final once the download link has been issued. If something goes wrong on our end — a corrupted file, a delivery failure — email us and we'll make it right.

4. License to the Dataset

When you purchase a dataset download, Forage Data grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the data internally — for research, analysis, lead development, internal tooling, and similar internal business purposes.

You may not (a) resell or redistribute the dataset, in whole or in substantial part, to third parties; (b) publish the raw data on a public website or API; (c) use the dataset to train a commercial machine-learning model that competes with Security1000 or Forage Data; or (d) remove attribution where we've asked for it. You may publish derivative analysis, charts, or insights drawn from the data, with attribution.

5. Acceptable Use

The website itself is free to browse. Don't scrape it in ways that degrade service for other users — if you want bulk access, buy the dataset. Don't probe for vulnerabilities outside a responsible-disclosure context. Don't impersonate anyone, submit malicious content through forms, or use the Service for anything unlawful.

We reserve the right to rate-limit or block clients that degrade the experience for others, with or without notice.

6. Data Accuracy

Rankings and company profiles are derived from public sources and third-party providers. Signals go stale, websites change, companies rebrand and get acquired. We keep things current as best we can, but we can't guarantee completeness or correctness, and rankings shouldn't be the sole basis for significant business decisions. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we'll look into it.

7. Intellectual Property

The site design, the Security1000 name, the scoring methodology, the rank assignments, and all original editorial content are the intellectual property of Forage Data. Individual public facts about companies aren't ours — we don't claim ownership of a company's name, employee count, or funding history. But the curated set, the score, and the rank position are.

8. Privacy

How we handle data — yours and the company data we aggregate — is governed by our Privacy Policy. If you're a person whose public professional information appears on one of our company profiles, you have rights under that policy, including the right to request removal.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA IT CONTAINS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FORAGE DATA'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE TOTAL FEES YOU PAID TO FORAGE DATA IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT, OR (ii) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00) IF NO FEES WERE PAID. IN NO EVENT WILL FORAGE DATA BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR REVENUES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

11. Indemnification

You'll defend and indemnify Forage Data from any third-party claim arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms, including reasonable attorney's fees.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms. The clauses that by their nature should survive termination — disclaimers, liability limits, the dataset license terms, IP provisions, governing law — survive.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, and both parties consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms over time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we'll call it out more prominently. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new Terms.
